Getting Started
Learnable Meta teaches useful GeoGuessr clues while you play. Its maps contain tagged locations, and its browser userscript displays an explanation after each guess.
Prerequisites
- A GeoGuessr account
- A supported browser
Install Learnable Meta
Learnable Meta runs as a userscript inside GeoGuessr. Choose your browser or device to install a supported userscript manager:
Start learning
Learnable Meta teaches clues in context instead of asking you to memorize long lists. A supported map associates each location with a short explanation of the clue worth noticing there.
Install a userscript manager.
Follow the guide for your browser or device above.
Install Learnable Meta.
Open the Learnable Meta userscript installer and confirm the installation in your userscript manager.
Open a fresh browser tab.
Tabs that were already open during installation may not load the userscript. Restarting the browser is the safest option.
Choose a Learnable Meta map.
Browse the available maps and open one in GeoGuessr.
Play and review each clue.
Make your guess normally. On the results screen, read the Learnable Meta note and compare it with the panorama before moving to the next round.
If the userscript downloads as a file instead of opening an installation window, follow the manual installation video.
The maps are especially useful in No Move games: recognizing the Google car, poles, road lines, bollards, signs, and landscape without searching around is an important part of the skill being trained.
Where hints appear
Learnable Meta displays its note after you submit a guess. It does not reveal the answer while you are still choosing a location.
If no note appears, first confirm that you opened GeoGuessr in a new tab after installing the script. Then work through the troubleshooting guide.
