A Major Bajor Mexico
Mexico - Agriculture - Blue Agave
Commonly known as the blue agave, A. tequilana is immediately recognisable by its blue, sharply protruding leaves. This is the agave from which tequila is extracted, and it mainly inhabits Jalisco, where it is almost always observed in magnificent fields which can even coalesce into vast shades of blue from a distance.
Similar, but different: A. anguistifolia.
While it is difficult to distinguish them, A. tequilana is noticeably bluer. One other difference is that A. angustifolia is more commonly spotted in isolated groupings than A. tequilana, but expansive fields still exist.
